Pumpkin Walk and More!

Neil and I got the chance to go to Logan this last Friday and Saturday for an Essig Family Reunion and it was so much fun! We left Friday afternoon and on our way to his parent's house, we happened to drive past the temple. We noticed that the leaves had fallen on the sidewalk across the street, where we took one of our favorite pictures from our wedding day. We had to stop and take a picture before the moment was gone.We also got to hang out with our favorite puppy, Hollie. We just found out that she has lymphosarcoma, a form of cancer in the lymphnodes. She started chemo on Friday and that's why she was wearing this cute t-shirt! She will probably have about 1-2 years to live, so we are going to enjoy every moment with her.The family reunion started that night at the Essig's house, where we had a yummy dinner and some great conversation. After that, we headed down to The Pumpkin Walk in North Logan. The displays were really great this year, and we even beat out the rain, which started right after we left! We ended the night back at the Essig's with hot chocolate and donuts. Of course Nick came running inside yelling for donuts, which is pretty standard behavior for him. Fun night!

Happy Belated Anniversary

"I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you."

Yesterday was our fourth anniversary. What an amazing four years! We are both so lucky! Here are some pictures from one of the happiest days of my life.

Box Suite, Baby!

Neil just got a new job, and he has been able to take advantage of a pretty sweet perk! The company he works for has a season box suite to Real Salt Lake games. The tickets are technically for him to give away to preferred customers, but there happened to be 8 extra tickets to RSL's exhibition game against Chivas Guadalajara from Mexico on Wednesday. We were able to take the family and it was so much fun. Neil's parents, Tom, Dave, Carly, and my mom were all able to come to the game which made it even better! The Chivas fans were out in full force and some were super crazy, but the atmosphere was amazing. The game was great and full of lots of entertainment- there were a ton of fouls, a couple injuries, two red cards, and some craziness in the team tunnel at halftime. They didn't really show what happened in the tunnel when the teams were going into the locker room, but it was super packed with angry soccer players and security was sprinting to get inside, so you can use your imagination! The teams ending up tying 1-1, but there were lots of great scoring chances which was pretty fun too!

Moving Day

Neil and I just moved to Layton last week, and this is the first time I've been able to post! It's been a little crazy, what with moving to a city we've never lived in before, starting new jobs, finding out that we're 3 minutes away from Tai Pan Trading (YAY!), recovering from the flu (me), recovering from food poisoning (Neil), and in general, trying to figure EVERYTHING out. The actual moving day went really smoothly, which was a big bonus. It was UEA weekend, so Tom talked/coerced/bribed two of his friends to help us move everything. They said yes before they found out that we lived on the third floor of an apartment building and also that we own the second heaviest bed in Utah. (Neil's brother Dave owns the first heaviest bed.) Neil's parents came, along with my mom, and they were a huge help! I was recovering from the flu so that whole day was a pretty big blur, but we got everything moved on Thursday and we were completely unpacked by Saturday. Neil got food poisoning Saturday night and was able to recover to start his first day of work on Monday. I'm sure there is so much more we're going to learn in the next couple of months, but it's been interesting so far and it'll continue to be an experience. Wish us luck!

It wasn't quite this bad, but it kinda gives you an idea. If we had had 2 more boxes, I don't think we would have been able to get everything down there in one trip!
