Wonderland, Running, and Burgers

This weekend, Neil and I went to St. George so I could run in the Spectrum 10k on Saturday morning! We arrived in St. George Friday afternoon, checked into our hotel, then went to dinner. We were able to eat some yummy food and relax, which was so nice! We also went to Alice In Wonderland that night, which was pretty cool. It was definitely interesting! The next morning, I had to be at the race around 8:00 am in order to be bussed to the starting line. The race was actually in Ivins, Utah (just outside of St. George) and started in Snow Canyon State Park and ended in the city of Ivins. It was beautiful and the weather was perfect for running, right around 60 degrees! I have never run a race at this distance before, so it was an automatic PR for me! I ran 6.2 miles total, 270th overall, 90th overall for females, and 7th in my age division, and finished with a time of 51:58, which ends up being a 8:22 min/mile. I felt like I ran really well and it felt great to do so well for my first 10k! Afterwards, we drove back up to Snow Canyon and wandered around a little bit, then headed to In-N-Out Burger for some lunch before we came home. All in all, it was a fun and relaxing weekend!
